How wrong we have been!
“Independent and self sufficient”…One of the
transcendental goals in the life of human being, Chris McCandless was one of
those people who realized this, with a devastating ending, yes, there is no
room to doubt, successful or big failure?
who knows, that subjective questions could be hard to answer. But who was
really Chris McCandless? An
irresponsible person because he underestimated the wild, in the fact that he
did not research into methods of survival hard enough, a spoiled brat, a
selfish college young, a flawed genius, He had no compassion for his parents
who did love him. He was a confused young man who had an urge to find himself.
All these
statements could be right but first at all, McCandless was a human being, born
to makes mistakes, with fears, insecurities, faults, especially he always felt the
society`s pressure, he wanted to run away, breaking society`s rules, He was
doing what he wanted, not what other people wanted him to do. He was brave in
terms to keep his stance, no matter what people think, or say, people what Alex
used to meet during his voyage, they never understood him, he could be love,
hate or ignored by them, but he never could be understood entirely. Including
society. “I knew of the rules but the rules did not know me”, Guaranteed
from Into the wild movie soundtrack.
I totally agree with what Alex has to say and he
stands for. Maybe the right path to the happiness is lose the inclination for
monotonous security and adopt a helter-skelter style of life move around, making
each day a new horizon, as Alex wrote to Ronald.
“happiness only real when shared” words
written by Chris , quote is basically saying that true happiness is only
achieved when shared with others, words, in completely contradiction what McCandless
had thought or lived, however, if he would not live what he lived, he never
knew the meaning of real joy. Finally all worth it.
Humbly, Charlotte.
